Ultimately this short was frustrating Not because it wasn't good and didn't fit in the Elemental Assassin series I actually liked it and thought that it was pretty good except it felt a little rushed No the reason this was so frustrating is because I didn't read it when it actually fell in the series Instead I've read it after everything that has gone down in Widow's Web and Deadly Sting That made everything that happened between Gin and Owen in this short frustrating to read but it also gave me a tiny bit of hope

Reviewed on Lili Lost in a BookGhosts We get ghosts in this Elemental Assassin novella and it was awesome This is actually the first time we see them in this world The first time I saw the haint was in the cemeteryShocking I know a ghost hanging out in a graveyard but the pale wispy figure still caught my eye if only for the fact it was the first one I’d ever seenYou’d think that I would have been visited by haints in my time given the fact that I was a semi retired assassin–and I’d helped a lot of people move on from this life to the next with a slice or two of my silverstone knives I love Gin she’s so sassy LolSo Gin is visiting Fletcher’s grave when she sees a ghost This ghosts attaches herself to Gin hoping that Gin will help her in that special way she “helps” Lol So with the help of Finn’s sleuthing abilities she sets out to find out what the deal is with this ghostThe antagonist in this one novella has air magic and it was used in the most interesting way We have not seen it used like this before in this series so I really liked that It was just very cool but pretty awful tooAs always I love the characters I love Finn and Gin and Owen just all of them I particularly adore Owen He is the sweetest thing ever and I love him and Gin together I am so glad we got to see a lot of him in this oneI also loved the action in this One of the things you can count on in a Jennifer Estep book is amazing action seuences And the story itself was actually very sweet Overall I really enjoyed this novella I actually first read it earlier this summer in the anthology it was originally published in but I am so glad it's now being released on it's own I highly recommend it especially if you’re a fan of the series
