A public scandal A private torment A love that changed The Senator's PDF everything Ronnie Honneker is the senator's wife  When she fell for the dashing politician the stars in her eyes kept her from seeing his flaws  And when she discovered his constant need for other women it was already too late  Now all the glam. The woman was not what he had expected The Senator's choice of a second wife had clearly been influenced by parts of his anatomy far removed from his brainThe Senator's Wife by Karen RobardsI must admit this book fizzled with me It combines some fun genrespolitics Legal mystery But I did not like it all that muchRonnie is a Senator's wife Tom is brought in to work on her image You see Ronnie is to pretty She needs to be made to look plainer less flashy And Tom is just the guy to change her public imageI liked the idea of the book then the book itself I love mysteries and I love political reads both fiction and non fiction So I thought this would be a winner for meWhile I enjoyed parts of it there were a few things I did not like I disliked the character of Ronnie very much I just could not warm to her And also it was very predictable I knew exactly where it would go from the first few pages Seriously if you are reading this and you guessed Ronnie and Tom fall in lovecongrats You have won a brand new car Well not really but you solved the not surprising twist in this book which the reader knows will happen almost from the same pageThere are other issues Tom's girlfriend Beth Apparently Tom's involved with her but the reader barely ever sees her Nor does Tom from what I read He gets the negligent boyfriend award Poor BethBeth is also described as a blonde in a blue dress or something like that followed by Ronnie 's commentary on how boring blondes in blue dresses are As a blonde who loves the color blue I objectThe there is the ending Spoilers follow for all who careOnce all the bad stuff is done Ronnie must decide whether to give up her life of luxury and be with sexy but not wealthy Tom I got a bit turned off I remember reading this and rolling my eyes a bit I was hoping for a complex mystery about politics Instead I got a not so complex mystery about love boring blondes neglected girlfriends and selfish senators wives Not my cup of teaSo while it was not bad I did not like it as much as I thought I would

CHARACTERS The Senator's Wife

The Senator's WifeOur of politics can't make up for Ronnie's loneliness or her husband's affairs  Especially the one that explodes into a media sex scandalPursued by reporters Ronnie reluctantly lets handsome political strategist Tom uinlan clean up the mess  She agrees to publicly stand by her man until after the next election  Priv. This book was too long for the amount of content and I really struggle to get behind a heroine with such a weak character Not only did she try to seduce an employee very low she would rather have an affair than give up her cushy gig with money and 'stuff' I can't abide infidelity When I rate a book with characters or events that are my hot buttons I struggle to separate that from the writer's skill and try to be objective Don't think I did well here
